A Shaky Week

The plate boundaries of the big, shaking planet have been slipping and sliding this week. A 7.8 quake along the boundary of Iran & Pakistan did lots of damage and killed dozens of people in the area but fortunately was in a less populated part of an over populated region so the death toll was lower than had it been elsewhere. The Kuril Islands, Indonesia, China, Japan, Vanuatu and PNG all had quakes in the red zone, above 6.0 - well, Japan just had lots and lots of 4's and 5's, but the daily list was loaded with quakes all over the boundaries of Earth.
In the US, quakes continue to rock the Oklahoma City area - not sure if that's fracking related or just the fact that it is an earthquake zone. California and Alaska, as usual, have lots on the list but Raton Pass on the NM/CO border, central Tenn. and Ontario make it on the list.  The CentralVa Zone is not on the list, and after the storms that rolled through last night with a powerful cold front we are thankful there have been no aftershocks to stir things up further.
The Earth is rather rocking these days, get out and enjoy but mindful the planet is in charge and has no concern for the lifeforms riding on the big chunk of rock. You never know when you'll need to hang on, today on Earth.
